Kriya Yoga Initiation July 25-27, 2015 in Austin Texas

THE ANCIENT, SCIENTIFIC TEACHINGS OF KRIYA YOGA Austin, TX July 25 – 27, 2014

Paramahamsa                    Paramahamsa                            Paramahamsa
 Yogananada          __          Hariharananda __                 Prajnananda
Kriya Yoga is an ancient method of living and meditation that cultivates body, mind, intellect, and awareness of the soul using powerful meditative and yogic disciplines. It helps us to experience the three divine qualities of light, vibration, and sound by using techniques of concentration, posture, and breathing. This develops a one-pointed mind, which enables us to penetrate the deepest levels of consciousness and to change our lives. Kriya Yoga teaches that any action, kri, is done by ya, the indwelling soul. It is a universal spiritual discipline that crosses all divisions and boundaries.

Paduka Puja:

As part of the 40th Anniversary Celebration a pair of metal padukas (representing the sandals of Gurudev) will be traveling to as many centers as possible in North and South America. In fact, the journey has already begun as these sandals have traveled recently from the Mother Center to Cincinnati, and then on to Denver Colorado on January 31st, thus beginning the first leg of their journey. Each center that receives the padukas has the opportunity to perform a paduka puja, and to place them on their alter where kriyavans can touch them and bow to Gurudev.

Banquet-Style Fundraiser for Balashram School

We have exciting news about the special fundraising dinner and silent auction for

Hariharananda Balashram on September 28th:

A generous benefactor has stepped forward to match your contributions up To $25k

This means your contributions, including your $40 dinner ticket will now be doubled in size and your generosity  will go twice as far in supporting these beautiful children. We urge you to take part even if you cannot attend this  event. Please don’t miss this opportunity to double the impact you can make toward supporting these kids.

I hope you are all doing well. I am writing regarding an event I am hosting called Sweety and Her Friends.” This banquet-style fundraiser will raise scholarship money for the bright and talented children at the Hariharananda Balashram School. The Balashram is a residential school for economically disadvantaged children in Orissa, India.

  • Hariharananda Balashram was founded in order to save orphaned and semi-orphaned children from a life of unimaginable hardship in an area of India plagued by cyclones, drought, deforestation, famine, and flooding.
  • Today, through the love and support of many, almost 500 children are being raised in this extraordinary environment.
  • Rescued from the harsh grip of illiteracy, these children are now fluent in three languages and are also proficient in Sanskrit.
  • They are scoring higher than India’s government standards for education in all academic areas.
  • They are trained in music and dance, art, sports, animal husbandry and organic farming methods — as well as actively participate in local community services.
  • They are raised in a non-materialistic environment that is steeped in spiritual philosophy and desire little materially but strive to serve others.
  • They are poised to excel in advanced vocational training and professional education if the funding is available.
  • The school is quickly approaching a critical crossroad. The children of Standard 10 will graduate in April 2014 and they need funding for further education. While they are brimming with potential and dreams of helping their communities, they require university degrees and career training to ensure powerful results. Your contributions can help make their dreams a reality.

Tickets are $40 per person and I will hold them for pick up at the door. Since there are only 100 seats available, please email me nata_sharma@yahoo.com  to let me know how many guests you are bringing so I can get a head count. Pay for your tickets now via PayPal link  link : note your contribution for “Austin Fundraiser.”

Remember any donation made will be matched. If you can’t attend the dinner, that’s ok. Give what you can and it’ll be matched.

_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________

The event will take place on September 28 from 7 p.m.-10:30 p.m.

at the Clay Pit.

The banquet will include a three-course, vegetarian meal, live cultural performances, a silent auction, and a slideshow of the children.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________

It would be wonderful if you could attend the event and show your support. The more people on board to attend, the greater the positive impact it will have on the children. Your contribution will

go a long way in helping them reach their full potential. If you would also like to make an individual donation, you are welcome to do so via PayPal link   note your contribution for “Austin Fundraiser.”

Feel free to email me about tickets, donations, or the event at nata_sharma@yahoo.com. Also checkout the Facebook page for the event. To learn more about the children and the school, check out http://handinhandusa.org. Thank you so much for your time and interest.

Sincerely,

Natasha Sharma

Gurudev worked incessantly all his life for the upliftment of all humanity. He wanted
each one of us to be realized and become like him. In Love and respect to Gurudev,
all devotees around the world are being encouraged to do something in honor
of Baba’s Mahasamadhi.

As example, you can decide to adopt one or more disciplines that you will incorporate
into your daily life, to aid you in your spiritual growth. There are many; we each know
what we need.

Some examples include but certainly are not limited to:

  • Faithfully meditate each day, for at least 1/2 hour.
  • If you are already practicing Kriya once a day, to practice it twice a day completely or at least the key techniques.
  • Bow each morning on waking up and each evening before retiring to bed.
  • Watching Breath continuously for at least one hour.
  • Eliminate some food from diet that may not be good for health or conducive to spiritual activity.
  • Spend half hour each day reading a bit of Gurudev or Guruji’s teachings, contemplating on it and implementing that teaching in your life and practice.
  • Keeping tongue rolled up in Khechari Mudra except while speaking, eating or swallowing.
  • Watching your thoughts and offering negative thoughts about anyone or anything to God and Gurus.
  • Thinking before speaking lovingly, truthfully and without any deceit.
  • Remembering God is in each person before interacting with anyone, even over the phone.
  • Fixing your attention in the fontanel.
  • Practicing Higher Kriya techniques if you are initiated in them.
  • Fasting on the eleventh day of the moon in both the waxing and waning cycles of the moon.
  • Follow the rules of Brahmacharya laid out in Guruji’s book on “Ten Commandments of Yoga”.
  • Serve food to those in need.
  • Observe 24-hour silence.

We encourage all Kriyavans to honor Gurudev’s memory Dec. 1st – 3rd in whatever manner
they feel appropriate.
We do hope you are able to join us for the Austin center’s special observance events.

With Love,
Austin Kriya Yoga Center
